Day 1
Dimapur to Khonoma
The first day of your journey will begin with your arrival at the Dimapur airport. You will be taken to the Khonoma Village. The distance from Dimapur to Khonoma is about 87 km and the distance will be covered in about three and a half hours. On your way to the Khonoma Village, you will also get to visit local market, which is well known for the sale of organic vegetables. Overnight stay in Khonoma.
Day 2
Khonoma to Seikhakie
The second day of the trip will begin with sightseeing in the Khonoma Village, which is also the ‘first green village of the country’. This trip will provide you an excellent opportunity to understand more about the history, culture and traditions of the Khonoma Village. It will also provide you the refreshing experience of enjoying the natural splendour of this charming hamlet. There will be a break for lunch during which you can relish the traditional cuisine of the region. After which, you will be taken on a trek to the Seikhakie base camp. The distance between Khonoma and Seikhakie base camp is about three kilometres and can be completed in one hour on foot. Overnight stay in Seikhakie.
Day 3
Trek to Dzukou
Kick-start the third day of the trip with some action packed trekking. Post breakfast, you will start trekking to Dzukou from the Seikhakie base camp. The distance between Seikhakie and Dzukou is about 6 km and the distance can be covered in about three to four hours on foot. The Dzukou Valley is situated at a distance of about 2700 meters above sea level and the trek is considered to be pretty difficult. En route, you will cross the Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary and hence will get excellent opportunities to spot wild animals and exotic birds. There will be a break for lunch after which, you can explore the stunning valley; enjoy the beauty of its lush green landscape and meandering streams. Overnight stay in Dzukou.
Day 4
Dzukou to Dzulekei
Dzukou Valley Visit, Dzulekei Village Trekking Early morning, you can explore the beauty of Dzukou Valley. After breakfast, you can either trek to a nearby waterfall, which is situated at a distance of about 3 km from your camp site or trek to the Dzulekei Village with packed lunch. Once there, you will be given a traditional welcome at a Morung by the locals. Explore around and spend some leisurely time there. Overnight stay in Dzulekei.
Day 5
Dzulekei to Benreu
Benreu Village Experience, Local Wine Experience On the morning of the fifth day, you will be driven to the Benreu Village after breakfast. The distance from Dzulekei to Benreu is about 25 km. At the village, you can visit the mystical Dzulekecie River and visit some locals at the Tepuki River. You can also partake in the traditional fishing and enjoy a quiet little picnic lunch with your own catch by the river side. Get an opportunity to check out the traditional Mt Pauna cottages. You can spend some leisurely time here and walk around and explore the village to understand more about the tradition and culture of the locals. Enjoy a sip of the local wine. Overnight stay in Benreu.
Day 6
Benreu to Mt Pauna to Benreu
Mt Pauna Trekking The sixth day of your trip will take you on a trek to Mt Pauna, which is the third largest mountain in Nagaland. This mountain is also known as a Nature Museum because of its abundant wildlife and medicinal plants. You will break for lunch and after a day of sightseeing and exploration, stay over for night stay.
Day 7
Benreu to Dimapur and departure from Dimapur
As the journey winds up, you will driven from Benreu to Dimapur. On your way, stop at the Pelekei Village, where you will witness the traditional salt preparation method. Post this, you will be driven to the Dimapur airport for departure.
